Pedal for the Pacific

Pedal for the Pacific is a segmented, sponsored cycling event for individuals and teams, starting at Prebbleton and finishing at Little River in Canterbury on New Zealand’s stunning South Island.

This is not a race. It’s for all bikes, and all riders. The route is an old railway line, making it an enjoyable flat cycling and therefore suitable for people at all levels.

Pedal for the Pacific is hosted by Rotary District 9970 supporting Rotary International’s Give Every Child A Future project. In partnership with UNICEF, Rotary aims to protect 100,000 children across the Pacific by administering life-saving vaccines. Did you realise that over 6% of children in parts of the Pacific die before they reach their 5th birthday, from diseases preventable by vaccines?

HELP US SAVE LIVES IN THE PACIFIC.

International Women’s Day 2021

IT’S ON AGAIN BUT DIFFERENT!

This line-up of inspiring speakers including Rotary’s to-be-first female International President Jennifer Jones, and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, is an event not to be missed.

In dealing with the fallout from COVID-19, organisations and people across the globe have needed to adapt to change on an unprecedented scale.  New ways of working have advanced flexible work practices by up to 10 years.

The task ahead is for workplace leaders to harness this momentum and take the opportunity presented to re-imagine and reset how leadership promotes diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.

The event brings together high profile leaders in their field; experienced and informed in the current issues of leadership and gender who are able to offer their insight into a “Bold New World” – a world post 2020.

2021 Aussie Peace Walk

26-28 March 2021

The 30th Canberra Walking Festival becomes the Inaugural Rotary Aussie Peace Walk.

Join us in Canberra Australia on the last weekend in March 2021 in a community walk for peace.

Our primary aim is to encourage understanding and peaceful resolutions to life’s challenges. We also want to prevent the deaths of hundreds of children in our neighbouring Pacific Islands.

Peace begins at home. Before there can be peace in the world you must first have peace in your heart.

The Aussie Peace Walk is not a race; it is a walk.

We want everyone to go on a journey together. People of all ages, and nationalities and interests. We want you to meet each other; to talk and seek to understand. It is only through taking the time to understand our fellow man, that we can reach peaceful resolutions.

Walking is not a burdensome activity for most people and so we encourage you to walk on two consecutive days.

We want to challenge yourself, to have fun, to meet interesting people and to go home with a satisfied smile on your face, a medal around your neck and a wonderful sense of ‘being’.

Participants will be encouraged to raise money for Give Every Child A Future.
